Lightbulb Best solution to clean the fully sealed suppressor?

    Hi all,
I need some recommendation on cleaning the fully sealed suppressor.

    Here are some backgrounds
I've been using the Oceania Defense 7.62 QD suppressor for more than 3 years without cleaning (about 3000rounds). The carbon build up is so bad that the carbon flakes falls out of the suppressor and enter the bore from time to time when pointing the muzzle up. In this case I'm looking for chemical solutions to remove the carbon deposits. I've tried the ultrasonic but it doesn't really help.

Is Schletek Suppressor Cleaner Evolution any good? Is there other alternatives that w

Just purchased the Schletek Suppressor Cleaner from reloading supplies. I'll post the review here if I can get the suppressor cleaned.

Tried the simple green in the ultrasonics. Will make the carbon flakes to fall off but far from clean.

I'm planning to apply the Schletek Suppressor Cleaner first, then ultrasonic to clean the inner surface.

What does the manufacturer recommend ?

Do your homework on this, but I recall watching an Eric Cortina vid where he recommended using CLR and holy shit that stuff stripped the carbon off his barrels and brakes impressively fast, you would absolutely need to check to see if CLR would be corrosive to what your suppressor is made of though before trying it.
Eric did make it clear that he had only tested it on Stainless

Please check to see if CLR will react to whatever your suppressor is made from before trying it on the suppressor.

Bert from Oceania Defense suggests the simple green with ultrasonics. Tried and it only removes some. I will give it a try with different solutions.

It was 3d printed Inconel 718, the nickle based alloy.

If you have access to copious amounts of bore solvent, I’ve plugged my suppressor before and filled it up for a few hours and given it a good rinse out after. Worked well

As Tiaan suggested. I had a sealed suppressor on an old 303 that suffered from this. Just pour a few tablespoons in (I used Hoppes no 9), plug both ends, leave it in a handy spot for a day and give it a shake every time you walk past.

I finished up with a rinse with half a cup of acetone, twice, and allow to dry out thoroughly to remove any oily residues to reduce the possibility of detonating or dieseling in the suppressor. Never had it happen, but I have sufficient respect for the theoretical riskto guard against it!

Do it twice? 3000 rounds is a fair amount of shit built up
