Big bore Red dot and recoil

Hey all hope you are all well.
    As the above title.
    Who’s had trouble with this.
Basically red dot sight being knocked about by recoil.
    Cheers S

Might not be much help but I've used one on a semi with 3 1/2 inch magnum loads which rattle you pretty well and it survived 25 plus rounds goose shooting better than my shoulder.

Iv seen low quality red dots not hold zero on a .22
And iv seen high quality red dots purposely be thrown on concrete and hold zero.
If its a genuine Aimpoint or similar you are having issues with then id start looking at the mount etc. Definitely not normal.

If its some cheap red dot then id throw it in the bin and buy a real one.

They have become quite popular on some dangerous game rifles. Have a squiz at the Africa hunting forums for some info. If particular models are working and reliable on 375 H+H and bigger then they would be perfectly fine.

Was at Handloaders range last week and somebody was sighting a rossi 357 with $39.00 red dot sight.
It was shooting groups but all over the target we checked parallax by putting in rest and could by moving head put dot anywhere we wanted on target. Could be worth checking.

I have an old OEG red dot that I like heaps.
Tried it on a 22 for a bit. Shot alright for me and a mate tried the rifle and it shot ok for him but maybe 100mm different at 50m. That would be indicative of paralax
Otherwise I dont remember paralax issues as such and it seemed to work well on the shottie even with poor cheek to stock positioning but obviously way more forgiving than a rifle
