    A big boys rimfire

I'd like to add a nice rimfire rifle to the collection. I'd like something that isn't built like a toy like most rimfires seem to be. Ruger 77/22 is an option but reasonably obscure. What else am I missing that is easily available?

    Ryan,
As long as your willing to spend a little or a bit more than that, look at an Anschutz 1712.
About as good as it gets in factory field rifles. Match action, beautiful 2 stage triggers, cut rifled barrels.

My Weihrauch HW60J in 22LR is boringly accurate at 75m with just about any brand of ammo. Feels noticeably more weighty compared say a CZ452 American. Action is tight, precise, with no slop, and probably over-engineered. Best half cock in any rimfire rifle, not that most people ever need half cock on a 22LR.
Trigger is good but mine doesn't feel as superb as the rest of the internet says. Not a fan of the hog bag stock either. The HW66 is essentially the same with an American style straight comb and no open sights.
    Reloaders should stock them.

Lithgow LA101 sounds like it should offer a similar feel. Although I've never handled one in person.

    I would go for a 77/22.

Once they are worn in they are a loverly Rifle. They feel more like a mini centerfire than a .22.

Ruger 77/22s seldom meet accuracy expectations, but are nice rifles. I'm a Lithgow LA101 fan, they will outshoot just about anything including Annie's and the stupid expensive stuff like Voodus, but are very usable, just a adult sized rifle that uses CZ magazines. The CZ 457 is also available in man size configuations but can be a bit of a barrel lottery.

Basically all the 22s over $1000ish are good these days. Just avoid the obviously cheap Marlin, Savage type rifles and you'll be good.

The CZ457 would be my pick if money is tight, T1x and Bergara B14r are other good, cheaper options.

If money isn't a concern a Anschutz 1727 is the ultimate rimfire IMO.

CZ, Tikka, Bergara, Anschutz, Weihrauch, Lithgow, Sako, all make nice rifles that'll meet your needs.

Winchester 490 is a full-sized rifle . Semi-auto though so that may not suit your requirement
