I would also point out with separate units if you break your rangefinder (more likely given its electronic) or it just goes all pooze you are not without your binos while its (the rangefinder) away being fixed ie you can still hunt

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

If comparing like for like e.g Leica 10x42 trinovid plus Leica rangefinder they will be heavier than the 10x42 geovid.

I reckon it won't be far away until a 8x30 lightweight ranging set of binoculars comes out from either swarovski or Leica

Think I will go with a bino/rf combo, makes things more simple and 1 less thing to carry..
Will have to check out some euro ones before making the decision to spend the extra $ over the bushnell, vortex etc ones...

    cheers

I have a pair of the Vortex Fury's and really love them. Just so much more handy having everything in one unit.

Like others Iv got the 8x30 swaro and leica RF. Had the binos for many years, on my second leica RF now . Some of the shooting we do I wont take binos so its handy to be able to take just the range finder.

Was running Bushnell combo for a number of years but last year got the Vortex Fury Combo, have been fantastic and work better for my eyes...

Find a normal RF difficult to focus with, but that's just my visual issues lol

I have always taken the view that range finder technology is changing faster than bino technology. Its a lot cheaper to upgrade a seperate range finder than to have to replace combo binos.

Similar to what’s said above - I run Swaro 10x42 and a Zeiss rangefinder 8x
Electronics no matter how good a brand will probably fail at sometime (may be a quite a long time)
But I figure the binos get a decent set for life and hand them down - my plan at least -
