I know that my mates geovids would make a damn good weapon if you threw them at something, heavy bastards.
He was obviously making that assertion based on relativity (10x42 stand-alone set up vs 10x42 combo) in which case the combined unit does actually come out a tad lighter (not that 2 ounces means much in the real world).
Anyway. I digress. 8x30s are for weak little boys with tiny hands. Real men use 10x42's...
Muahahahahahaha!!! Haha!! Muaha!! Muahahaha... (etc).
I like the 10x25 Leica's used them over 10 years now with a Leica 1600b rangefinder.
I cant remember the last time I carried my 10x42 Geovid's, never felt eye needed more!
I have bashed my Leica 10x25 Trinovids on a rock face up the tops in the snow:sick: they condensed inside and would not focus properly no use after that but I still could use my 7x magnification Leica 1600b range finder and scope not ideal but got me through the hunt.:pissed off:
I sent theTrinovid bino's direct to Leica Portugal and they repaired them for free. had the Trinovids for around 14 years with no complaints.
Liked my 10x25 Trinovids that much I imported a new pair of 10x25 Ultravids when my Trinovids were stuffed rather than carry my 10x42 Geovids.
I started with a cheap range finder and binos,Traded up to pair of swaro 8.5x42s and a Leica 1600b, was happy as with this combo, Then decided the Leica 10x42 geovids would b a good idea, only down side I found with these was the custom billistic curves stoped at 1000 yds which was good until I started to stretch the barrel and shoot out to a bit further so I now have the 10x42s and a sig 2400 which covers all the bases
