    Binos $600 or under?

Currently looking at upgrading from my $60 Kathmandu binos, I see the Leupold BX-1 McKenzies are down from $530 to $400 @ H&F, vs the BX-2 Alpine for $600. Not bothered about brands at all really, just want the best glass I can get for that price. Guy at the shop reckoned get the BX-1 as the difference is minimal, and you can't beat the price. Any advice would be appreciated, cheers

Well under 400, but I would take these over the vortex any day of the week.

We no longer do Vortex. We were selling them to low for the NZ market and Vortex USA hired lawyers.

Our recommendation is any of the UHD models by Athlon. They are now the market leading product in their price ranges.

Just having a look at your site now, the Athlon Argos look pretty sweet. Would possibly be keen to make the drive down from palmy sometime this week if you're available?

Cheers guys, Vortex Diamondback seem to be pretty popular, just no one selling them locally and pretty wary of buying without having a look first

Thats ratshit, they must really love their mates at extravision.

It's insane the prices we pay here for anything high end, be from it Vortex, Burris, Leupold etc.
May as well buy a Tangent Theta from Target Dynamics, expensive as shit but atleast you are getting good value for money.

If you want really good binos in that price range - actually $400 ish, the Delta 10x50's will beat out any Vortex or Leupold for definition and clarity. They are a little bigger and heavier but heck they are good, right till dark oclock. Get ahold of Sarvo. I use Swaro's and the Delta is not far behind, they just need more focus attention that the Swaro's when glassing across a face.

The amount of threads lately where the original poster says they have a budget, only to offered high end products or told to save is getting outer hand.
