Rimmed better suited but not essential.
The 6.5x65Rimmed I use has a lot of taper in the case body also, so they slide out really easily.

@akaroa1 yep will be ringing Joel tomorrow or Monday. I'll be going with the standard model, about 2 grades below yours.

I see they come in standard calibers too. Do they have ejectors or just extractors that lift the case a bit? I would have one in a heart beat. But the price might stop my heart beat.

Just extractors I think. Different shape for rimmed vs non rimmed calibres. Selling. My R93 and the 223 barrel has covered most of the cost. My wife is pretty good with my spending, but I have put nearly $5000 into the kids horses, so it is a short conversation.

For about 25 years I only had one rifle, Rem 700 30/06. No thinking required when I went hunting. I was bloody good with it. One goat shooting trip we bumped in to a couple of other hunters. They had heard us bombing up a mob, they wanted to know if we were using semi automatics. In the last couple of years I've bought a few other rifles and have to think which one to take depending on the trip. I've missed the last 3 deer I 've shot at. I need to get back to being a one rifle man. @Tahr sell a few rifles, 2 or 3, and you could have a K95 as well.

Stutzen black edition would be nice

The K95 Baronesse is my dream rifle... in something like 6.5x55. They usually have a photograph of one in the Swarvo catalogues. Such beautiful rifles...One day maybe...

Wilson Outdoors(?) has a K95, only $35,000. Might be a Baroness. The latest Blaser catalogue has has great pics.

I had a special set of dry bays made by "Twin needle" to slip the parts in to when taken apart and the scope is off.
They slot nicely into the side straps on my pack and the scope is tucked inside in its neoprene cover.

Niggeloh does a very nice sling that has two cartridge holder loops built into the bottom end of the foam strap part. Very nice product and there are always a couple of cartridges handy.

Once you get a load sorted its just go hunting. No bedding, no tinkering just go hunting.
When I hunt alone there is always one in the chamber and its very fast to cock and shoulder in one motion. @stug I hope you like it when it arrives.
But Im not sure about the one rifle idea, personally.
I use a couple of R93s for the basic handy meat hunting and have the luxury of being fussy about what I shoot when Im away in the alps and trophy hunting and thats when the K95 gets used. Its covered a lot of country with me and doesn't often get fired.
I guide ( for koha ) a few overseas visitors each year and don't really need to carry a rifle ( they always have my R93s ) but just can't bring myself to not have the K95 on my shoulder even if Im unlikely to use it.

Stug, a few years back I wanted to scratch the quality single shot rifle itch. Like you I traded a rifle that had found it way to the outer in my safe. Traded a sako 75 and cash for a Merkel K3 single shot in 7x57R. It's fitted with a 3-9 x 42 kahles and weighs 2.8 kg scoped. My first reloads with a 139 on Ww 760 put 4 of the first 5 shots in one hole at 100 meters. Trigger is outstanding and adjustable. Uses Rectnagel mounts which return to zero . Stock is the Germanic hogs back same as the Blaser. I use mine mostly as a feeder filler, light carry and it works well. For longer range and trophy type hunts where I want the bipod option I use s bolt gun or a R8. In a light rifle the 7 x57 seems about right but I have a mate with one in 300 win mag that he uses well.

Either way, they are worth a look.

These custom dry bags made by Twinn Needle sound like the go! Do they offer your K95 much protection or are they more just to keep your k95 dry. Any chance of a photo of the bags with your rifle in it? Thanks
