    Short thread indeed, what benefits other than minimal weight lose are there. I'm not having a jab, actually interested.

    I think it actually makes it smoother(may not be the best word) as there is less surface area which means less friction?

    Spiral fluting on a short action rattles a bit, and is a bit notchy, I did it to a Model7 cause I could, might try straight fluting next time.

    I did a couple Tikkas and two Sakos but they were already so smooth you couldn't notice anything different ..
    Too hard to fill with weld now so will leave all as is.

    Yeah there is a slight weight saving, but as stated It looks friggen cool Initially it was done to stop the action binding / freezing shut in very cold conditions.

    Does it collect more crap in the flutes than a normal bolt?
    Guess most people are pretty careful anyway. Does look cool though.

    Can sometimes cause issues with the round in the mag being pushed up into the flute.
    "Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
