    bored as buggery

I was mustering on sunday for docking on the neighbours place and had a cock up on a steep face, went down like a sack of shit and dislocated my knee so im out of action for a while bored as buggery!
Woke up this morning and felt like letting some frustration out on the gongs, So I loaded up a few more bombs for the old 300 and cruised up to my range crutches and all.
Nothing fancy to report but for a factory gun it still amazes me how accurate it is if I do my part, even with 800plus rounds down the tube. I couldn't really get comfortable with my swollen bloody leg in a big brace but none the less she still gave me a good 5' group at 860 meters. Thought id share as im bored shitless with nothing better to do while all my neighbours and staff dock my lambs for me.
    Cheers

Good shooting under normal conditions, let alone with a buggered knee.

I have trouble achieving that at 80m let alone 800m :-(
Now you know why I prefer Buckshot - aloud to use at match shooting ?????

I hated Docking time - to stressful :-)
Spoke to cockies in weekend from Waikato/Kahwhia region - some have not started yet and might not do this year
Be a lot of slow fly clutching going on this summer

    Slick shooting.

Are there any contract docking gangs around your area?
After I left your area to buy a farm of my own, for a couple of years I used to come back over to Paki-ra and Mangamahu to help muster for docking. Loved it. My best memories come from around there...except for trying to get lambs and ewes and weaned lambs through gateways blocked with a forrest of variegated thistles!

    Can understand why.
With the twinneedle ones you at least have a few additional ones, including at the back with tends to keep them in place pretty well.
