    BRNO Model 21

Couple people wanted some pics of a 21 so here is my 7 x57 made in 1955 and obviously been well cared for ,this I what they call a transitional model and has the ZG bolt handle and even rarer a single trigger .Name: F8F63F9E-D643-4337-9806-74C38CDFCEF0.jpeg

Well it’s mostly original finish , the butt pad is obviously not original but rest of stock is untouched , I had Allen Carr fit a recknagel bolt shroud with side wing safety and he reblued the bottom metal / trigger guard that had a little wear and I didn’t want touched but he decided to do it ...and that’s it .
I used to have another one with the same bolt handle but with the standard 2 triggers , was very well used that one though .

So you all like Model 21's - there were a lot of "variants", I've seen quite a few . . . this is one I owned for a while, it came to me from James Passmore (Carlsen Highway) with an unusual adaption to the claw mounts - this might have worked OK had someone not cut it up. As it was the rifle whilst in lovely condition would not hold zero . . . so I sold it on. As I recall the proof date was 1942 and the rifle bore the stamp of a Paris retailer - it was likely special ordered by a German officer . . . . 8x57JS

These were James' photos, I can't find any of the ones I took . . .

I've posted these photo's elsewhere on the forum but hey - no harm in a good repeat eh??

This rifle is only "bits" of a 21, it has the action, bottom metal and stock, but the barrel has been fitted as a replacement at some stage. Action proofed in 1956, barrel in 1926 (in Germany) and reproofed in the UK in 1955. Figure that one out!

Shame about the top one @Tentman as that’s a really nice bit of wood for a 21, I turned one down about 5 years back that had the nicest wood on a 21 I ever seen( very similar to your one ) but some dopey bugger in the past had cut the stock down to about 12inch LOP or something it was crazy short .
Love the barrel on your other one is that got a full top rib or octagonal barrel ? What’s the Calibre ?

Its an 8x57, shoots great despite being a .320 bore. Barrel is a light 1/2 octagonal to round with a full rib. Its a beaut rifle to carry/hunt with and now is in my special "never sell" cabinet!
