Anyone have any experience with the A-abolts? Not the newer budget A3 but the older better quality AI and AII. Couple I'm eyeing up on TM and wondered if anyone had experience. What were the pros/cons etc

Excellent rifles mate.
Have one in .243 and she's well over 600 deer.
Excellent quiet and smooth action. (This is the medallion model mind,)
Accurate , and lightweight. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f8de212e8d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e98e1c167c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8eeeb60d9c.jpg

I've had an A-Bolt in 270 for 22 years and it's still my go to for big game. Probably only shot 60 or so deer in that time but it's still as smooth as it ever was to use, pretty banged up externally though. I recently bought a second hand 22-250 A-Bolt as well, loving it.
Might seem a silly question but what is the main difference between the A & the X bolt?
I’m going to ask anyway:D
Yep have 3. All been great
have 2 LH abolts one i rebarreled to 260 rem which i use as my main rifle and i pickup a a lh abolt 22 hornet which is a great wee shooter aswell
I have an original ABolt in 308 in walnut stock. Build quality is good, bolt is slick, trigger is crisp, consistently less than 1 inch at 100m with either factory or hand loads.
I have a nice stainless one in 7RM if you're keen. will list on TM in the next week or so. Great rifle.

Would you go stainless over blued? Both synthetic.
Here is my 308. It's made in 1990 according to the serial number.

My daughter has an A-Bolt II with the bolt handle on the wrong side in 7mmRM. She loves it. Smooth action, like the ergonomics of the tang safety (similar to her Savage and hard to accidentally catch it on anything) and very accurate.
im tentatively on the look out for them
Id never handled one till recently in fact it was one in the picture further up this thread and they are really nice, 60 or 70 degree bolt throw
Iv seen them come up for silly cheap and passed them up due to fear of the unknown
I have a Miroku M-bolt, which is the same as the original A-bolt but with a different pattern machined on the bolt. Was my first centerfire rifle. Still have it..nice rifles.
I have had 2 A11, 1 in 2506 regret selling this and my 300wsm which I have owned for 14yrs. Absolutely love them. Had the trigger lightened but that's it. Smothe and slick bolt, really like the 60 degree bolt lift.
I was looking at one and do very much like them....but I hear that they are a bitch for bedding
Nope had both mine bedded by two different people and no mention of being a pain, no more than any other bedding job.
Load my mates 223 with 55gr TSX. He cleans the barrel by shooting it.Mows down stags with regular monotony.Enuff said?
Had an early a-bolt prior to phone cameras so no photo to hand. Bolt was straight fluted by factory. I really liked it. Accurate. Mag could pop off floor plate which was nice touch. Trigger ok. Nice positive bolt lift...60deg so easy to mount scopes.
