Yep very interesting Stug. It seems like a bunch of well intentioned good buggers tried to help by giving the benefit of their wisdom to a new member and then it all went horse, water, drink in this thread.

Every village has its idiot. Let him eat his crayons.
If anyone is like me and spent their time reading the entire brass damaged thread, now this. Then can anyone tell me how someone so naive, immature, disrespectful, unappreciative and so blindly arrogant pass as being fit and proper? Honestly don't believe you're 28 @pepper123... more like 16 and just got there license. Why on earth would you ask for help on a subject which obviously you have no knowledge in (hence why you're asking), then reply with kid like insults and treat every fellow knowledgable member on here like shit? I can say I won't be dealing you after seeing what you're like and I'm sure I'm not the only one :wtfsmilie:
Nope I think you're all in for a good servicing. You won't even whisper pepper123 in the dark . Get eatn then couches boys yum yum

This guy and systolic need to form a band...
I'm not on old mate peppers side but I have read the entirety of both threads.
Some people can't articulate thoughts very well and I think pepper is one..
To be fair I don't think I would bother going through the hassles of getting my bolt replaced over some minor etching, i just really wouldn't have the time to fight it, sure you may loose a couple hundy on resale but who really cares, his choice.
Time = $$
If he cared about resale he would of bought a tikka. The gun functions fine and is safe
I wouldn't buy anything from the shop ever again and I would make them well aware they are idiots and probably get them to admit they are idiots
That's about it
I'd rather banter over this teeny tiny issue on the page than go into a shop looking like a complete idiot asking for a bolt replacement when they pull out 2 second hand x bolts and it's got the same marks . It's just a bit of spilt milk a mate . If a gunsmith gives it the all clear why the fuck would I listen to majority of these idiots . I'll carry on dishing it out to these boys for some entertainment

Sweet as
Just so you are clear tho and I hope you are because it's been said about 10 times in different words on the other thread.
Bolt etching (gas cut metal) is not normal
The only way this is caused is by gas leaking around the primer (not normal)
The only way gas leaks around the primer is dodgy factory ammo/components (your case) or extremely hot reloads
I have personally owned and sold a 2nd hand xbolt, it's not normal to have gas cutting as this thread has showed.
It is normal to have a gas ring (carbon) slightly proud of bolt face (not indented). That is normal on all rifles. It's a bastard to clean.
I find it remarkable that supposedly two gunsmiths are saying gas cutting on a bolt is normal. I can only assume you are getting your terminology wrong or they haven't actually looked closely or run a pin over the bolt face.
Name of gunsmith/s?
Yes you child.
Go play on the white lines outside whilst the grownups talk.
The winner of a turd swallowing competition is only a winner between his own ears, and not much will change that
No thanks
Yip you scare the shit out of me, the fact you have a FAL is quite worrying.
Guys best treatment for this is place that one on your ignore list, don't give the little troll his band stand.
It's like trying to convince a anti to come hunting.
Ha ha you are winning bro
Lets meet up for a beer
