    Bushbuck Bipod / Tikka 243

Was in the market for a new Bipod and wanted the notched leg Harris that swivels when I came across the Bushbuck version on Trade Me.

I was of course pretty sceptical when it says "Why pay $225?" and is being sold for $90....

I thought F*ck it and bought one after reading the blurb about Aircraft grade titanium...I also emailed the owner as I wanted the Titanium statement cleared up and the email I got back confirmed the blurb and gave me a few details on the owner who seemed pretty straight up and into his stuff!

I told a mate I had just bought one as he is looking for a pod too..He promptly told me he knew the owner and that he was a pretty fussy engineer... good signs.

The Bipod arrived quickly and looks just like a Harris and performs nicely. The only real difference being how the spring is secured to the top of the leg otherwise it feels like quality.

The other bonus is the Gunworks spike also fit the BushBuck so I gave them and the Blued Sako Rings I bought recently a bit of prep and then sprayed them flat black... The rings tend to surface rust quickly so I wanted them sorted.

Anyone got a decent recipe for the 243? Im keen on the 87 vmax but also want a load for bigger game.

I use a bushbuck one on my 300 win mag and it is awesome so far, much better than the crappy remington one I got from H&F for not far off the same money

Cheers for the review. Have a Remington and it gives me 🏼🏼 breaks stuff fall off. Not impressed. Might try the bush buck ones. Anyone know any light ones that won't fall apart at first shot? The atlas bipods not light either.

    Yeah I hear ya man.

I have a friction style Harris that always performs and I'm still not used to the Bush Buck notched design only because I've not used one before.

Really nicely built for $90 one can hardly argue!!

    Define light.

Atlas is lighter than Harris for example.

    Neopod is lighter again.

But since you bought a Remington one to start with, maybe you have an aversion to good gear?

Hah. I have an ignorance of good gear. Unfortunately when I find good gear I then suffer from prickles from reaching past the gorse in my pockets.

Sounds like this bipod might be the biz. 🏼

To be honest if I had spare cash I would go the Atlas due to the shooting multiple positions but I am not patient enough to save for it.
