Have a look at the Marlin 795 as well, I've had both and prefer the Marlin. 10/22 is still a nice rifle.

If you want a semi I'd go for this over a 10/22. They tend to be a lot more accurate and you don't need to spend the same money again on it just to make it work as it should have from the factory. To lighten the trigger on the Marlin normally only takes one floppy and 10min, 5 of those minutes finding where the floppy spring went to when you broke it open. The money you'll save on the Marlin over a 10/22 will get you an old JW15 and they can shoot very well indeed.
