I have been watching a few NZ hunting video's on youTube and noticed most of them have their suppressors wrapped in camo tape.
Who does this and what do you use. I have noticed mine does glint a bit it's a bright day even in thick bush.

its more of a thing to stop the "ringing" of the outer casing. lots of people use a neoprene sleeve
As above. Also, not recommended for long strings of shots as the cover insulates well and keeps the supressor from cooling down.
Im sure its a placebo type thing but I swear mines quieter with tape on it. I got a few rolls off aliexpress for $2 each and its exactly the same as the stuff H&F sells for $25. Message me your address and ill send you a roll
what howa said, i payed $1 a roll from ali, same thing at GC is $20
makes quieter to carry in tight bush, you avoid that metallic ping when bush/branch hits suppressor. As stated above - does not assist with cooling, so definitely not the go for long strings
I’ve been using this stuff called “sniper tape” from the uk. It’s good quality but can feel tacky in hot weather and leaves residue. I’d be interested in a neoprene cover if anyone can recommend one.
Used to use camo tape but now use a Weka Silicone cover. Much better permanent on/off solution.
bit of bike inner tube also works.... doubles as a fire lighter if needs must too!
for those on the cheap, self amalgamating rubber tape. expensive in nz, cheaper than hell from ali. really good inside scope rings for serious recoiling rifles too
+1 on the Weka Silicone cover.
I am already a fan of the self amalgamating tape. I work with a bunch of apple fanboys, and have used this a lot to make their Macbook power adapter cords continue to work.
Never thought of using it on a suppressor tho.
got the mrs to make me up some neoprene ones but now use self adhesive horse bandage.....you can buy it in all colours and camo off trademe for stuff all...looks a little like old school crete paper eg crinkly and matt finish...its soft and doesnt glint....seems to last really well too...and dirt cheap.
I have neoprene covers on all of mine.

I just got a couple of rolls from aliexpress too. I out it on to protect from scratches. Also, camo jist makes you look kewler. [emoji849]
I also thought about wrappjng my rossi puma in it. That thing is like a god damned mirrorball.

re quieter....has anyone else noticed the first shot with tape over the end is significantly quieter????
I found that on mine it affected POA as well. Could not figure it out until I took the tape off to take a closer look at the suppressor for damage. Maybe it is something to do with vibrations and harmonics, maybe not. All I know is my 30/06 shot way better without it. But dead gorse makes a real racket on the suppressor.
I tried the AliExpress camp tape... kept coming undone in damp / cold conditions. Is there a trick to making it stay put?
I gave a mae suppressor to my nabour that was stainless which was a bit to bright for him
he used shrink wrap on it the stuff for big cables
It came up so good and professional (we did it together with my heat gun) that i considered doing it to mine
perfect matt black finish and tough anyway if your looking for another option
