    There is obviously a market out there for this judging by the amount of T3 rifles, parts and re barrels/services being sold across the board.

    You could apply some of the above logic to anything we do but we have evolved, hence not every hunter is using an open sighted 303. People enjoy choice and this is just another choice out there.

    Apart from a couple of somewhat cheesy upgrade titles (IMHO) I would say well done, looks like a slick product.
    The T3 seems to be the 10/22 of centrefires. Good in principal, but just not quite there so get modified to be more suited to the user. But no matter how much money you throw at it it is still a T3.

    I agree with @Smartie - this is clever marketing. Take the most common of centrefires available off the shelf and make it "special!" Stand apart from the crowd! Put mags on your Corolla! Turbocharge your Tikka! Be different to the other 200,000 Tikka owners! (until they do the same mods) Hurry, limited offer! Don't miss out on your chance to be different!

    Go for a fucking run if you want to save 1kg of weight.

    Yes I agree it is a very common platform, people throw money at all sorts of things cars a re a good example of that - beauty is in the eye of the beholder, just look at that ghastly HOWA a few post's up

    I am never sure what is meant by "it is still a T3", what is it that a T3 specifically lacks that the "better" options have?

    I thought he key to killing an animal was a fit for purpose projectile at the right velocity in the right place, if all three of those are achieved then it doesn't matter the make of the firearm?

    I may be too simple in my view, I'm no fan boy, I have shot the same rifle for the last 14 years and only had a couple of others before that. Not because I wouldn't like a carbon SAKO 260 but because when I'm smashing through kanuka in the rain having been outwitted by a Sika stag I realise that even if I had carried another rifle the outcome would still be the same.

    Anyway that's my last comment as the OP was not looking to debate the merits of different brands in this thread.

    Agreed. They are but mere tools at the end of the day. And as far as tools go the T3 is a good one, they shoot well.

    But hurry now! Add carbon fibre to set yourself apart! Boost your Tikka! Be different!

    Yeah I don't think anyone is saying the T3 is a bad rifle, it is very good at what it is built to do, it's more that it is an inexpensive rifle so what is the point of spending as much on it as a premium rifle and still being left with a cheap one?

    Nah, just ordered a Howa Alpine Mountain Rifle In .308, 5.6lbs.

    Unfortunately I had an LSA65 and a T3 could never live up to that!

    I have heard the carbon fibre stocks actually attract deer and make them carry themselves to your truck....

    Its true Spudattack. You must buy one. If not to attract more deer, then to save your back. You owe it to yourself. "Because you're worth it"

    I think Hardy's have a great idea, BUT:

    It has been done;

    Cheaper to flute the barrel or re-profile;

    Senator and Stug offer cheaper stocks;

    hardybarrels Barrels are sold in the states for $750 USD (he took the pricing down);

    Most of the options listed are cheaper at your local 'smith.

    At the end of the day Kiwi's are tight fisted, gorse in ya pockets thrifty spenders (myself included) and this needs to be taken into account.

    he might have to reduce the price again... why would you pay US$750 for a Hardy Barrel whe you could buy a Bartlein for US$350?

    To be fair, he is competing against the likes of proof research not bartlein.
