    Carbon Tripod

    Hi all,
I'm in the market for a new Carbon Tripod for my Swaro spotter. What's everyone using out there ? I'd like to get one that's sturdy in the wind but light(ish) in weight .
    Cheers,

    Carbon Tripod

Sirui make a good lightweight carbon tripod for reasonable coin. Comes in a kit with a good ball head. About $300 ish. A1205 I think Y11 ball head?

Handles my 65 mm spotter well.

The Swarovski ones are nice, bit bulky but pretty light weight for what they are and very sturdy. Quite impressed with the new Leupold carbon tripod looks very well built and seriously considering one for running camera and binos

@Dicko thanks, looks like a nice piece of kit. How does it perform in windy conditions? Ideally ,I'd like to use it for digiscoping with my spotter.
    Cheers

@Ryan_Songhurst, thanks- just checked them out. Both look really well made . What model are you currently using and how well does it handle windy situations?

If you want something better than everything else mentioned above buy the artcise CS60C. That is perfect height, weight etc and easy to shoot off.

I have a the cs50c which I would personally call perfect but some might say to light weight, hence me recommending the cs60c.

Now I've had a lot of gear, could be classed as a gear snob, but this tripod is genuinely excellent especially coupled with the spartan davros head.

Also has the bonus of a leg unscrewing for walking/tent pole etc.

Link below doesn't seem to work but just search it. 10 days to my door.

I should also say, my cs50c happily handles the recoil of my 300win mag, no suppressor or brake, either prone or standing.

I have one that's 800gram and not carbon. Mefoto brand. Doesn't go to standing height but I've never had the urge to stand and use a spotter. Might be able to look into something similar? Does go up abit higher to crouching height

    Ando2506,
The surui has been fine in the wind so far. My wind is probably less than yours as I’m less exposed than on your tops, but this tripod is being used a fair bit in US and Canada (where I saw it endorsed) for sheep and goat hunting -similar wind strengths I’d guess.

It has a hook on the main stem where you could add some extra weight.

it maybe to light to shoot from, but I have not tried it with a hog saddle or davros mount. I use a Bipod or off the pack…

@Love_ducks I'm a fan of both of their products . It'll be interesting to see what they come out with.
