    CCI Subsonic .22 - Problems

Has anyone else had any issues with CCI Subsonic .22 ammunition? When I have unloaded a couple of times recently I have found the cases separate from the bullet and spread gun powder through the action of the Brno, the bullets left still lodged in the barrel.

    Cheers,

    CCI Subsonic .22 - Problems

    I'm 150 rounds through a 500 round box, never had a problem.

    I'm shooting a Ruger 1022

Sounds like you may have a tighter chamber. The bullet getting lodged in it.

Is it possible you have a buildup of gunk in the chamber/throat that the bullets are sticking to??? Tight chamber may also be the cause?

Possibly the old .22 may need a clean.

Will see if that sorts it out. Cheers guys.

Yeh, it is not as much fun when you can get both hands in and clap.

CCI ammo is normally really good quality.
I've never had any issues and I've shot thousands and thousands of those subsonic target rounds (and I hunt with the subsonic hollow points).

Pull the bore snake through a couple of times and see how you get on.

brnos can be alittle tight. but inspect the chamber and see if there is a wax build up and give her a clean.

and pull on the end of a few of the ccis and trace it back to see if you can find out if it is on the bullet end
either way tho it is likely to be a tight/filthy chamber because if it was loose it wouldnt hold the pill enough to dislodge it.
I use winnys and dont have this problem. so the cci MAY be slightly longer and be jammed into the rifeling which is grabbing it

I've the same issue with my CZ. Match chamber as I understand. Easy fix is to use Winchester Sub Sonic in your Brno or ream your chamber.

If you place a CCI Sub Sonic next to CCI Stand Velo you can see the difference in size with your naked eye on the projectile.

I have put a few thousand .22 CCI subs through her, it is only this brick that I have had issues with... I suspect it is a cleaning issue, I don't do it as much as I should.

Oooh I hear the clap is not much fun tight chamber or not!

I have a 1022 match that has a tighter chamber than the standard 1022 and it didnt like CCI Subs. The neck is larger than the CCI standards which I never have issues with but the subs would mis feed and not always chamber with out force.

On NZ Rimfire some one measured them and there was a fair difference in the neck length on the projectile between the subs and standards.
