looking for ideas to raise the cheekweld to better align with scope.
Atm it's looking like a "strap on" may be the go.
Thought I'd ask here first,maybe someone has a clever idea.
Maybe some one here makes something to suit.
Yea I've got foam taped to it but looking for something more permanent and tidier
any ideas?
The missus had same issue with her howa . We bought one of those elasticated ammo holders and I just added shaped high density foam under the shell holder. Holds it in place nicely and tidy to look at as foam is covered by holder can't even tell it's there except for the rise.
Looks alot nicer than a strap on too, never been a fan of those myself....fugly things

Seems like a good solution, shape a bit of wood to fit, drill into stock and mount pins/screws for the wood to sit on, giving you solid mount which can be taken off to remove bolt, stock pack/cheek rest bag just there to hold the wooden block down.

I use a stock pack on most of mine when needed, works well and has a bit of storage

The practicalmlimit to how high a fixed cheekpiece can be is that you still need to get a cleaning rod down the barrell.
A wood stock is easy: find anice bit of walnut, dowel and epoxy it on, shaped to size and fit.
Plastic is difficult. I made an elaborate one by cutting the relevant part off a spare synthetic butt once and grafting it on. Adds heaps of weight and half of people cant see through my scope cos they've got strange shaped faces. But its real good to shoot with. On another gun i stuck a piece of electrical tape on the comb so it would be removable when i get sick of it. Then built up a narrow cheekpiece with epoxy putty on top of the tape to just the right height. No time for doubts- it hardens in about 5 minutes. Took 1/100th the work and it does the job well.

I've used bags & they're ok for certain rifles but I do find em a bit fiddly & fuggly.
I needed something tidy for the ARX ( I use this as an alrounder ) so went for one of these. It's not perfect but good value, easy to mount & pretty well made.
