    COAL challenge Tikka 223

    Hi guys,

I know Tikka offer a longer mag, question is what COAL will fit into the longer mag? Other alternatives out there that you would recommend, including modification of the current mag?

    Cheers

The existing 223 mag can be modded to take longer.
Haven't done it myself but a bit of a google should bring up something.

Thanks guys. Ideally I would like to run longer rounds out of the mag, which will free up some case volume and allow me to get closer to the lands with the 75gr ELDMs. Do you require a import permit to get a mag from Aus?

I think you'll find the "extended" means the 6 rounds it holds, not length.

    Cheers Tentman.

Do I require a import permit to order mags from Dave Waters? Any one else looking at getting some from him as well?

Let me put it this way - Dave Waters says to call him re orders. When you do you'll find out why.

You only really need longer mag for say 75 & 80 Eldm's, you can fit 77 TMKs, SMKs, 73 EDM's, 69 TMK's in tikka factory mag ok as designed for AR mag. The waterman mags are nicely made but you know what, sometimes just easier to grab a bigger golf club out of the safe than trying to stretch the old 223 unless you are more specifically into target shooting and want some more range?
