It's not a firearm, so I'm fairly certain the pistol length rules don't apply.
You would need a Firearms Licence, but that's about it.

Actually, PCP pistols do not require a FAL, but PCP rifles do. The longer barrel just makes it too much like a firearm in muzzle energy. This restriction came in after a police officer was shot and killed by someone living the low life and using a PCP rifle.

That's interesting. Does that mean if you take a PCP rifle and cut it down to below 762mm that you no longer need a licence to own it?

That would need checking. I thought it was that you did not need a pistol license (B cat) for a PCP pistol as it is classed as an Airgun and can be owned on a normal firearms licence but it is still precharge and thus classes as A Cat. (Think that most of the people making these rules cannot tell a pistol from a rifle, from a hole in their arse)

No, PCP pistol is under the same restrictions for lack of a better word as a break barrel rifle. There has always been a bit of debate on the old airgun forums though as to how the Police would define a PCP pistol being that the level of restriction is the opposite to a powder rifle/pistol where the Police have been very forthcoming in declaring anything under 762mm a pistol
