I am new to the forum but I am hoping to get some insight into if there is a market for a custom magazine for the tikka t3 rifle. I am the owner of a t3 in 7mm08 and have designed my own magazine that allows for longer COAL by 4mm. No other rifle modifications are needed.
I have a working prototype that is 3d printed but was wondering if there are others out there who would be interested in them. They will cost a lot less than the official t3 mags.

I am sourcing a supplier for the springs at the moment as my prototype is using my original tikka spring. But I will try to keep this thread updated as I go.
I think there would be interest in a longer T3 223 mag, so that it is possible to load 75gn bullets into the lands.
Yep definitely a long 223 mag. That would open the possibilities of long cartridges based on the 204 as well.
How much more space would you need?

I am having trouble sourcing the flat spring to be used in the magazine. Does anyone knows someone who makes them or can supply some factory tikka ones?
Even if its another brand but similar dimensions I am sure i can make it work.
At this stage I have only made a modified version of the medium magazine as that is what i have access too. Down the track i will make other calibers and also larger capacities.
Any advance on this does anyone know
Why don't people use the longer mag and change bolt stop
Won't work for 223, the Medium magazine feed lips are to far apart and the case just pops up between them.Quote:

I tried going this route with my WSM but the LA mag was slightly too narrow and although you could get the WSM cases in, it would only feed the top round leaving the others wedged below the feed lips so the bolt wouldn't pick them up.Quote:

Did you ever crack this as I am looking for a long action 3 shot mag and don’t fancy spending $150. Does anyone else know where to get a good aftermarket one that will work with 284win?

Will also have the likes of the sight smoker, tikka tactical bolt handle - it actually screws in and out so you can be very quick in cycling or in to save the space
Few weeks and they will be here - they may appear in a few stores, there isn’t the margin to do what normally happens, but I have a few we work with, helps them, us and Dave as well
