Thread: CZ 455 varmint mods

Hi guys.

ive recently got my hands on a 455 varmint which i am very happy with but i was wondering what other people have done to their Cz's to improve them

It currenly has cheap 'high' scope mounts and Bushnell ar22 2-7x32 on it.

*My next purchase is probably going to be a Yo Dave trigger kit.

If you are going to import a yo Dave trigger kit let me know I would be keen on one and would split shipping

The standard triggers are super easy to tidy up and lighten with the appropriate amount of sear engagement

So, regards trigger, I adjust mine original/standard to the best I could and then I ask my gunsmith to "tune" it, he polish the wear and it breaks at around 1.25lb or around 750gm. Boyds ProVarmint stock and a Bushnell 4.5-14X44 Legend Ultra HD (I actually want the Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x44)

Everything is a perfect setup for me.

What was the type of fiocchi you were using as i have some here that went not to bad in my lithgow

There is target with those too, however not so impressive as this red box. I must go out sometime soon and do the same test with both of my CZ's(sorry I honestly don't sayin it to be a "cock").
I also will keep you guys posted.

FYI: I bought a Yo Dave kit the other day, arrived with in the week. Easy to install and set up after about 30 mins of mucking around. Breaks clean at around 1.5 pounds and almost zero creep. For the money its awesome

This was a CZ455 .22 varmint but added a .17 HMR sporter barrel (cut to 17"), Hardy can, Yo Dave trigger kit, DIP rail, Weaver V16, PTG bolt knob and Boyds rimfire hunter stock. Very happy how it turned out.

Ive got a CZ452 Ameticans in both 17hmr and 22lr. On both of them I sanded the barrel channel to free float them and installed the Yo dave kit. I actually used the one kit to do both rifles.

Other than that just a suppressor and a good scope on them and you are good to go, I have never felt inclined to glass bed them. They are beautiful rifles that are a joy to shoot. Have enjoyed many 80-140yard kills with subsonic 22 on rabbits and plovers. My 22lr CZ is easily my favorite rifle of the ones I own and the most frequently used, although the 17hmr always brings a smile when it vapourizes plovers.

Years ago when I was shooting smallbore I used to use Fiocchi Supermatch V320 with good results. I used to buy in quantity direct from Target Products in Timaru. I doubt that they still sell direct but you could communicate with them and find out who may have Fiocchi nearest to where you are.

Incidentally, I still have a brick each of Match and Supermatch left which I sparingly use in a Walther Silo rifle. I have tried SK, Lapua, Fed Match, RWS, CCI and none of them equal the accuracy of the old Supermatch Fiocchi.
The not so good news though is I bought a box of Fiocchi subs recently (made in Mexico not Italy) and they are crap in all my 22s.
