cz452 .22
i have a cz452 in synthetic/nickel, im considering selling and looking towards a .17 to replace it for a little more distance, what are everyones views on either the .22 or the .17, and if a .17 what is a decent rifle to go with, as at the mo id prob be replacing it with a cz again as my .22 is seriously accurate, even when im behind it
-
You are correct about the cz452 being accurate, mine shoots the cci subs 5 shot group into 11mm@ 50m, The lapua 22 magazine target ammo best group 17mm?
What ammo have you found groups best.
-
started out with winchester super x when i brought it then changed to cci subs, the cci's grouped alot better then the winchester, i was the same, could put 5 shots nearly all thru the same hole, very impressed with the rifle, just looking for longer legs so to speak

I have a 452 .17hmr. Great little rifle. Very accurate and will extend your reach markedly.

Ive got a CZ 453 in 17hmr and it shoots like a demon, I have'nt shot it alot but have taken bunnies out to 250y with it, Cool fun rifle with a great trigger ( the bolt can be a bit of a bastard to get in sometimes though )
The only thing you will need with a 17 is - #1 more $$$ as they are expensive to run if your shooting alot of rounds, #2 a decent suppressor, as the 17 has quite a bark to it & #3 be good a reading the wind when shooting a distance
-
im pretty sold on the idea of the .17, its better in most respects of the .22, only thing it won't be as silent but I think the pros outways the cons
-
Tristan, I had a CZ452 heavy barrel .22 which I sold a few years back. Frankly, I really regret parting with it. They are great rifles, accurate, they last a lifetime, have plenty of aftermarket parts such as triggers and rails, so you can enhance the rifle to your needs.
I have no opinion on .17 but for long range 'bunnies' and bagging good ole' Thumper perhaps a .223?
Take you time and think about it.
My 2 cents worth.
Rogue

Go for a .17hmr. I've been shooting them since the early days and they are fun and lethal. I suppressed it and got a gunsmith to do the trigger. But DONT sell your .22lr. Everyone needs a .22 especially for the odd bit of subsonic and to take someone else shooting and introducing them to the sport. The more you spend, the better they are. Mine is a Ruger. Nothing wrong CZ ... I just think of hmr's as turbo plinkers anyway.
