Delta Titanium ED ll Spotting Scope

Recently I asked @Sarvo if he could get one of these in for me. I've been wanting another spotting scope for a while now since having to sell my Swaro ATS last year.
I'm not a rich man by any stretch of the imagination but I do subscribe to the mantra of good glass = $$$$ so I'm not into throwing away cash on stuff that's no good multiple times, I'd rather save for a while longer and buy something decent.
The Delta gear has started to get a bit of a following here and it seems all who have purchased Delta riflescopes etc are very happy with them, so with that in mind I decided to take a punt on their spotting scope.
Peter was great to deal with as always and he was as keen as I was to know what the scope was going to be like.
A couple of short weeks later and the Scope arrived and I didn't waste any time setting it up and putting it through its paces.
I've had it a few days now and I'm genuinely blown away by how good it is for the money!
The scope itself is reasonably compact, but it's a solid little unit and build quality feels and looks great, all controls are smooth with no backlash and provide just the right amount of friction.
The only other spotting scope I have personally owned was, as mentioned, a Swarovski ATS with a 20-60 eyepiece, optical quality on the Delta is easily on par, I actually find it more comfortable to use for extended periods, a bugbear of mine with the Swaro was I got sore eyes very quickly using it, I'm not finding that at all with the Delta. It handles stray light very well and CA is very minimal and only detectable at all in very high contrast situations, such as looking at a bright skyline behind a dark horizon, this is also on par (and better in some cases..) than all of the much more expensive euro spotters I have used. Image reproduction is true to colour and I could glass well into dusk and still have a nice bright and crisp image, deer in scrubby "deer coloured" country at between 1800 and 2000 yds from my house stood out very well and I had no trouble picking out antler size and shape at that distance on some of the lads that are still carrying their headgear, it's worth mentioning that low light conditions are something even the most expensive 65mm class spotters will always struggle with. The scope comes with a 15-45x eyepiece and I did not find myself wanting for any more magnification. A crisp image can be achieved throughout the entire mag range. I sat the scope on my tripod and left it outside the dairy shed in the morning to allow it to be exposed to damp and cold and changing temps as the morning went on and again no problems with fogging etc when moving it inside and back out again to different temp and humidity levels.
The scope came in a very nice aluminium and Abs hard case that is also lockable. There is a neoprene stay-on-cover provided also which provides protection but still allows you to mount and dismount the scope and use all its functions, will be good for those of us who just want to stuff the scope in a pack and be able to get it out and put it away with a minimum of fuss. There's also a lens cap for both the ocular and objective lens. If you're looking for a spotting scope and want great performance that will rival the best stuff out there, but at a more marriage friendly price point I wouldn't hesitate to suggest you hit up Sarvo and get one in.
