    Docter Optic 10 x42 B/CF Binoculars

My binos were in my ute when it was stolen last month.
Insurance company supplier has said my $1599.00 Docter Binos are equal in quality to the Nikon Monarch 7 10 x 42 at $934.00
Would the Leica Trinovid 10 x 42 HD not be the closest in quality.
I have queried and complained about this but the company reveiwed its decision and Monarch 7 or $ 934.00 cash settlement is all they are prepared to offer.
Any optics experts out there able to advise me if this is correct.

Sorry to hear this shit, @Sako85. Old story; fucked over by the thieving bastards, then screwed by the insurance company you've paid a ransom to, in advance.
Most of them seem to offer "like for like" replacement, or cash equivalent payout. Legal theft. I think you need to speak to a specialist lawyer and go over your policy. But based on my experience, you're just double-fukt.
Used to be a fine wine - now I'm vinegar.

Hey mate, sorry to hear. Insurance companies = shit. If it's any help I do have a set of Nikon 7's, against a set of Kahles and my brother's Leica the Nikon have a slight edge, and they're $500 less than the Kahles. Either way it's a shit sandwich for you, but I'm really impressed by the Nikon's. Hope it all works out.

I like this site. Good reviews and rankings. So it might give you a reasonable idea. Yours are ranked 24 and maybe not too far off where your insurance company ranks them?

Am I reading the rating on this wrong wrong or something?
The No 1 ranked bino's were the Nikon EDG's costing 1500€ and rated 2/5 by an owner!?
