    DPT Suppresors on Heavy Barrels

    Evening all,
I have just become the new owner of VERY nice Tikka CTR, courtesy of another good bugger on here.
I picked up a suppressor for it today, and have just tried to fit, but the Rear bush of the Suppressor is too small (19mm bush, 20mm Barrel diameter).
It looks DPT only do a 16 or 19mm bush.

Anyone run into this issue before?

I'm assuming i could probably just run it without the bush, as theres not a massive amount of clearance without it.....
    Cheers

I had mine machined out on a lathe so its the right fit, my local gun shop did it. The bush is plastic I think, you could drill it out as I was going to do but didn't have a big enough drill bit.

I wouldn't recommend trying to drill out a plastic bush. If you have the drill sharpened at the wrong angles it will go bad real quick. Use a lathe and correct cutting tip.

Normally you spec the barrel diameter (at bush) when you order the suppressor, and they send the bushing with the correct internal diameter already machined. Or sometimes gunshops will do this as well.

I run one of my suppressors on two different rifles, I have a different rear bushing for each.

Being Hamilton based, you could probably just take it direct to the source, for machining.

Thanks for help everyone, i just picked one up from H&F, and got the biggest bush they had. Think ill give DPT a call and see if they can whip up something suitable.

If you were at H&F Hamilton, DPT was literally next door.

Which H&F? I recently ordered a DPT from H&F Botany (they didn't have one in stock). The manager called DPT and had them machine a bushing to fit my rifle. That's the bare minimum service I'd expect from H&F.

Hamilton. To be fair i didn’t bring the gun in or measure the barrel od. Just had the thread details and asked for the largest bush.

If you order a bush from DPT they will machine it to whatever size you want. Done just that a week or so back.

I have a rear bush from my tikka CTR barrel that is sitting spare at home if you want it. Rebarrelled it and used the suppressor on another barrel with a different bush.
I work just down the road from DPT in hamilton

I had a DPT suppressor for my Tikka CTR. Ordered it through DPT. Fitted fine. Fantastic rifle.

Get a drill bit (10mm or so) and wrap sand paper around with tape top and bottom to hold it then just evenly sand the inside out with battery drill until you can fit a piece of paper freely between barrel and bushing. Easy peasy

Looking at buying one also but on the website they say max barrel dia at the bush is. 22.5mm. I’m assuming that’s the maximum you can machine out the bush, however if I were to fit without the bush installed what dia barrel could you go up to?
