Fuck them if all they are looking to do is point fingers. They must have a miserable existence in the first place in order to look for fault on forums such as these anyway.

If you have the correct licence, you legally have to test fire a firearm before you sell it to make sure it’s ok under the consumer guarantee act. I believe dealers can get this licence?

My dad has his C and his B and despite years and years of pestering him to "c'mon, just give us a wee turn, just one mag.." and him living in the middle of nowhere on his own land, he has never given in and let me fire a C fullstop and has only ever let me fire a B at the range so I guess they take it reasonably seriously

Although its my understanding that you are NOT to fire the full auto guns , it does happen , not often , but it does happen , however if caught you can loose the lot .
It my understanding Billie T James had quite a collection , and he fired them , however , it may have been towards the end of his life , and have heard similar stories , about guys that where dying and knew it , and decided to shoot their full auto toys , before dying .

he mentions in one Video he fired a Thompson off the back of a boat. Video ended on the internet.
He got a stern warning from the AO and cant remember if a fine etc was involved.
Arms Act 1983 No 44 (as at 01 October 2018), Public Act Contents – New Zealand Legislation
    Nothing specific listed there
Arms Regulations 1992 (SR 1992/346) (as at 01 July 2017) Contents – New Zealand Legislation
    or there.

My personal opinion is that its not worth the risk for a little bit of fun. FAL holders are under more scrutiny than ever before. I could very quickly see someone being made an example of. Losing my FAL wouldnt be nice at all.

Now would love to be able to have a blast with some C cat stuff. Dam right i would. But i dont see leglislation changing anytime soon. Even to the likes of pistols at approved ranges is unlikely.
You can't have looked very hard if you didn't find it.

Hint: the punishment is up to four years in jail and or a $5000 fine.

Easiest way is to go to somewhere like Vegas where they have a range (called battlefield something or other) . But be warned you will need deep pockets. One mate I know got a go spending many hundreds of dollars US on cheap ass 223 (300 or 600 rounds, I think) to put through a mini gun. It lasted about 10 or 20 seconds.

C cat firearms are not cheap bangers. They tend to be collectable and hard to get, Why would anyone risk it all for a few seconds of fun?
