Exporting from the UK

Does anyone know if it's OK to take ex military magazines out of the UK by person? got a relative over there and they posted me a couple but got returned stating not suitable for airmail? They're visiting soon and wanted to know if OK to bring in suitcase.

I tried looking up on one of their govt website's but not very conclusive, lots about actual firearms but nothing really about parts etc.

Yes it looks like you will need to apply,since the Magazines are of "Military type"
