    "Exporting" to USA

    Good morning everyone!
Please a little help. Someone want to buy one of my rifles and he is from America, so, what are the procedures for such thing? Can someone give me advise and what kind of paperwork is needed?
    Thank you in advance.

Make sure you get the money for it first!

its a royal pain in the bum, especially if the rifle is american made. its not a problem to export from here its the importation at the other end.

Thank you for the input, the rifle is a Tikka super varmint, and "it is not american", LOL! The person is interested because this model is not available in their market.
    Cheers.

Exporting is not the problem, finding a freight company that will ship a rifle will be next to impossible. I cannot find a freight company that will ship my stocks overseas, let alone a whole rifle. Maybe talk to some of the importing companies and find out what companies they use.

When I inquired about some blaser barrels from Germany a while back I was told the only airline that would freight them was Korean Air, maybe flick them and email and a phone call.

I have exported a rifle to Aussie, its just a bit of hassle & paper work.

The States may be the same or more difficult, make sure he can get an import permit first....

I hope you are getting big money for this rifle. I would be inclined to tell the buyer to sort out a broker to make the arrangements.

Thats true but its "only a Tikka" to us here in NZ.

When I imported my AR's they were over 10K each here and the selection to choose from was limited.

The export fees I paid was more than 1/2 the cost of the rifles but even then landed here cost was about $2100 all up for a new rifle better than a used POS parts gun at 4 x + the price from a certain gunshot that shall remain nameless. (this was in 2000 - 2001)

Its all relative to where you are at the time and whats available
