Face optics
How important do you guys think it is to wear good sunnies when hunting the open stuff & what sort of sunnies do you guys wear while hunting, good quality or some old cheapies ?
Ive always brought good quality sunnies for general wearing, driving, cycling & bike riding, shit I brought my fist pairs of Razor Blades & Frogskins in the late 80's
If I'm going for a walk on farmland I'll wear a good pair, But for most of my hunting I seem to take a pair of $5 cheapies ( don't have to take care of em then )
but I recently brought myself a new pair of LE Oakley Jawbones with Photochromic lenses ( like transitions, their tint adjusts to match the light levels )
so I thought shit I might as well use the things after all we go on about how important having good quality glass in scopes & bino's is

I've been lucky to have a SIL that worked for a major distributor of eyewear, so I got quite a few pairs of very good quality glasses.
Serengeti are my favourites. Awesome lenses and polarised so great for spotting fish in water. And the best thing is no change to vision through the scope either.
Look through a scope with cheapos and you view is distorted.
You only get 1 pair of eyes so look after them!

I find tinted aviators in general the best, comfy and have a nice "feel" to em.... i don't take the reflective ones obviously, it also adds to that "redneck" look :XD:

Been using Dirtydog Polarized for years
Really good.
Least you wont slit your wrists if you loose them

I prefer the half frames from addidas that clik apart and dont break.

Back when I had money and toys my face would never be without a pair of oakleys, I once lost 7 pairs in less than 6 weeks on the ski:wtfsmilie:
Now I wear smoke saftey glasses from work:D

I pretty much always wear sunnies when outside. Left them at the Mother in-laws on the weekend and I felt naked without them and realised just how comfortable it is to have face optics. Because I fish heaps I always get polarised glasses. My company has account with safety shop so can get a bit cheaper than store prices. I have two pairs. Crappers and goodies. Same model but crappers have been goodies that have been damaged. Still cost a bit of bung. $80 each. So I reall do try to keep the goodies in the supplied case.
I would be too scared to shell out more than $120 for a pair though. I am carefull, but accidents do happen
Never given the photo chromatic stuff a go

All glasses break. I use $40 ones from petrol stations, go through about a pair a year.
They're a waste of time if not polarised.
I can see better through my scope without them, even in bright light .
UV exposure causes cataracts same as it causes wrinkly skin and gunshots cause deafness. I wear them a lot for comfort too especially for driving but its surprising how seldom they're needed outside the manmade environment ie below the bushline, on slips and river flats. They're essential, of course on snow or water and need a strap to hold on.

I wear cheapies. I have kids, they break everything......:oh noes:
Less tears with cheap glasses... Mums Oakleys have held up well to the abuse.. My blood pressure hasn't when I catch them with their Mums glasses:pissed off::yuush:

Yeah but mine always broke at the hinge or in the middle of the frame. The ones that click apart are a hell of lot a better,I havent broken any in years since using them.I also avoid sets that let folded arms rub on the lense.

Ive worn top of the line Oakley's for the better part of the last decade and a half. I wont get them with out transitions lenses in them among other things like anti-reflection coatings as well. The way I look at it if you have to wear them 16+ /7/365 you might as well buy once and cry once :D
