Any thoughts on a first rifle for my 6 month old grandson?
Daisy Red Ryder, enough grunt to shoot sparrows but not enough to do too much damage, be still a few years off wouldn't it?
easy............. winchester mod 70!,heil love ya for it.
What are you shooting?
What about one of those gas strut type new air rifles.?
No recoil and noise from a spring and i assume you will be starting him on bags etc before he can hold it up.

Good on ya Lloyd!
Buy the best rifle you can afford and put it away until he's 16.
I already have a Rifle put aside for my eldest Granson if he ever gets into Hunting :)
He's only 3 months old ATM.
It was my Fathers hunting rifle.
The day before Dad died I told him I will keep it safe and pass it onto one of my Grandkids one day.
He was very happy with that.
Cheers
Pete
Buy him something quality but don't put it away. Use it then it will have a history. He can say this was dads and he used it a lot we used it together and now its mine.
I Have no kids but my nephew will get my 20g Beretta 687 SP3 when he is old enough, in the mean time I ill be using it.
I even purposely got some 28g inserts. Better than a 410 to learn with!
Have no kids of my own to spoil so lucky him.! In fact eventually he might even get all my rifles / shotguns and assorted stuff
