Fitting a recoil pad
I've always taken the easy way out and have put up with the std recoil pad :)
However I have got the Mrs a Hot Pink pad for her Skeet gun.
Its a Kick-eez grind to fit

I get that you rough shape it 1st and fit to stock, but the final shaping on the stock is a bit daunting - not that keen on getting the grinder close to the nice timber! :D
Whats your tricks?

Hey Spanners
How to install a grind to fit recoil pad on your rifle - YouTube

Good luck!

You mean ya dont just lay into it with the 9 inch? Grinder that is :D
-
Draw round the skeet gun butt with fine tip marker onto a stiff, thin cardboard, or light tin, then cut out profile carefully, match new pad to profile as required, then fit. . . . :)
-
Are you shortening the length of pull at all for her? If you were you could use the off cut as a template then transfer the finished pad.

-
Not shortening
Will give it a go an report on the progress when I get back from wk
Sand paper on a block for final shaping on the stock or?

I used 400 on an pneumatic sander of Leathel's to finish, and a little WD40. Came up good.
