Forum experts advice on scopes please

Money is tight for the next few months which is probably a familiar thing for most of us.
Looking at second hand dial able options under a grand.
So far have narrowed it down to either a sightron s111 or a burris signature

    Any experiences/reviews welcome .
    Many thanks

Have you worked out a shortlist of specs you 'must have' (magnification, adjustment values, tube size, objective size, max weight, robustness etc etc) - and a second of what would be nice to have (zero stop, reticle type) if you can find it in one package?

If you have this worked out, it will likely narrow your options down to a few and then the work you have to do to work out what you want will be less. Get the right thing and likely you won't need to upgrade later as well...

Mate had a Sightron. Paint flaked off inside of tube with one piece sticking to crosshair. Sent away for repairs/exchange. Took about 8 months to come back. Have a look at Vortex. Good glass, no hassle replacement wty. Second hand dialables should be available at fair price.

Thanks for the sightron info I liked that the glass was japanese

I don't mind ffp or sfp and tube size doesn't matter too much as I have 25 and 30 mm talleys in the drawer.
    It's going on a 6.5 creedmoor

I got a new GPO Centuri 3x15x44 for $770 new in Australia not sure what they go for in N.Z. I've sent mine back to N.Z for my .270 WSM.

It's not all of them, but it's always them.

One off for a Sightron, everyday occurrence for a Leupold. Sightron are good.

Had a look at one of these GPO Centuri 3-18x44 scopes at the local h@f and was quite impressed, bit bulky around the turrets with the illuminated crosshair but looked good to my eyes and all the reviews I've read are good.
