Glass bedded stocks - what happens ?

If you have a stock that is glass bedded for one action (in this case an Omark M44 action) and you put a different action of the same make and model in the stock (and assuming it fits in OK) will the new combination still shoot well??

I guess another way of asking is - what do you do to prepare an already glass bedded stock for a new action of the same make and model??

(back story - My Din Collings Omark 223 was an outstanding shooter in its old stock but the stock was shitty. I scored a new stock that is much nicer, fitted it but never got around to shooting the new combination, I want to dust the old girl off to shoot a match on Saturday, and I don't have any time to test things)

Try it and see. If it doesn't shoot well then just a light grind with a dremel and a skim bed will see it all good.

Have a candidate for that but I think it needs a more than just a skim

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I have a fibreglass stocked glass bedded Brno ZKK601 that shoots really well, and the same make, model and year in another calibre in a wooden stock that needs bedding and floating. I have been wondering about swapping the stock just to see if the second rifle performs as well as the first one, but I really don't want to risk damaging the bedding and stuffing up what already works.
