Been wanting to put a 6.5 Grendel together for a while

    Anderson slick side upper
    Hera MLOK handguard
Alexander Arms 16" barrel w/ AA hard use bolt
    Anderson adjustable gas block
    DPT Can
Topped off with an IOR 2.5-10 FFP

NZAR15.com has some more barrels if anyone else is keen.

What mags are you using for the 6.5 Grendel builds?
I haven't heard/read too many good things about the C-Products mags in 7.62x39 or 6.5 Grendel.

How do you rate the calibre so far?

I have some Alexander arms ones

I really like the cartridge, it makes the 223 look like exactly what it is, underpowered for general hunting duties on anything other than small pests....Flame on....

    What's the point of flaming?
    It was an obvious troll.

However you could say that about any cal larger than the 223, the grendel being one of them.
Especially when regarding an amateur hunter/marksman.

I would rate myself with a .223, a pair of under $400 binos and no range finder for any NZ hunting under 250 yards against anyone with any other combo they want to challenge me on.

And because I've I've had a couple or so wines, they can be any age too.

I reserve the right to withdraw this boast in the morning.

You are having a buck each way at the moment. In the morning you may double down Tahr.

On the ballistics calculator it just craps all over my .223 loads. But in saying that, I have and witnessed others pull off some amazing shots with .223's. I've only shot one deer with a .223, but I've shot tons of goats and it just smashes them with the right bullets. I wouldn't feel undergunned if I could only have a .223. It's cheap, accurate and effective if you understand it's limitations. Grendel is expensive and much higher performance. You don't want to lose any brass.

I like the 223. Cheap brass, cheap projectiles, pretty good bang for your buck.

Grendal is an underpowered piece of crap compared to a 50bmg
