Nice Maca49. Weather the sling so it looks more in character with the rifle.

Nice Maca49. Weather the sling so it looks more in character with the rifle.
I added Aimpoint Micro 2MOA with Daniel Defense mount for my GSG-5. I tried to fasten Aimpoint without DD-mount, but it was too low. Even my wife accepted higher setup :).
I´ve replaced fake suppressor with real one, which use original threads but it is 12 cm longer than the fake one. Barrel shortening was not an option due to Finnish gun laws.

That's a ridiculously long suppressor for a .22
I decided I wanted a very lightweight general purpose hunting rifle that has more grunt than my 6.5wsm, for everything from bush to 6-700 yards.
I have successfully shot the 120 GMXs out past 1000 yards with the wsm & VX3 CDS so that got the thought process well underway :)

It currently weighs 2.880 kgs, 6.35lbs all up as shown in the pics.
I'm waiting for an even lighter stock with a better recoil pad :ORLY:
It is a Titanium action with 24" Lilja fluted barrel in 7-375 Ruger, Talley rings & VX3 4.5-14x40 CDS scope.

It happily pushes the 162 Amaxs at 3150 fps, it will go harder but I want to take it easy on the brass & action, Titanium is softer than SS & won't last forever.....
Recoil is quite brisk....:ORLY:

I'm looking forward to getting the replacement stock, bedding it & assulting some rocks etc getting to know how it works.
I don't think my shoulder is though :oh noes: :P:D
Perfect for the forum hunt Greg

Good combination there, is that a first generation Titanium stock ???
HMM looks familiar for some reason!!
Must say I do like the barrel stamp:P

303 Ross, has shot out barrel which I will replace when I get the motivation. Love the action on these.
Ha ha ha ha sorry Gibo and this post is likely to cause the same thing. You would have thought after waiting eight months to get it that I would have had time to think my way around stuff but no not Rushy the dumb ass despite all of the research I have done. Took the rifle home to secure it and bugger me it doesn't fit in the safe so had to stick it in a rifle rack. I am not even sure that it will fit in that once the scope is on. Oh well I will just have to buy another safe (and then it will look lonely in there so I will have to buy another rifle to keep it company).
Have you joined the 338 club Rushy ?

Rushy, damn it man :D
Each post from you without photos is going to be 2 lashes at the Sika show !
Get to it, we want to see the beast...
Rushy, have a look at this post, some very good info about 300 win mag loads Comparing the Berger 210 VLD to the 215 Hybrid - Long Range Hunting Online Magazine
Thanks stug I really appreciate that. I do not really see myself as a reloader (too many thumbs and not enough time) so I will kick off using Federal Gold Medal 190 gr Sierra MatchKing BTHP which has a BC of 0.534 (fuck I really don't even know what all of that means). I am encouraging AndrewH to come play spotter for me and he is a reloader so once he gets the bug he could be in for a bit of favour calling (not that he owes me any).
mate plenty on here would reload for you no problem, i no i would happily. See how your factory ammo performs and then make a call, might not be worth the hassle.
A set of 300winmag dies will cost about the same as your first pack of ammo! then all you need is the components.
Very generous of you to offer thank you. In time I will post some pics of groupings at various ranges and then feel free to jump in and advise whether you think I would benefit from it. I am not yet sure whether I am entering this long range phase for the fun of it or whether I will do as I have done throughout my life with other things and get serious as hell and want to be better every time I have a go.
Be interesting to hear what you think of the recoil and noise levels Rushy. Ear muffs a must with those babies. This one of mine now has very little recoil its more of a soft shove, and kills rabbits at (best shot by 30calterry) 440 mtrs so far.
Owned a Fallow deer at 460 I think it was. We couldn't find anything further out ha ha . Great calibre IMO. Some feedback when you ve fired it would be great.

You ll get the bug and it ll be new trigger, bigger optics, bi pod, hand loads etc etc all that fun stuff...

For the lazy that cant be arsed googleing it what twist is it Rushy?
Rushy, I think you need your own thread at this rate.
Here are the major pieces just to whet your appetite
Attachment 9934Attachment 9935.
I think you need a bigger farm
Will phillip be carrying that for you :D
+1 id be interested to see how you progress Rushy. You've always joked about having no clue when it comes to the technical side of shooting now u have a 1000m rig. Definitely get someone to make u some bombs u will save a fortune and have a more accurite load. There will be heaps of members wanting to help out the forum elder.
Whats flavor scope?
Time you straightened your neck to Rushy seems its a bit bent:D
That bolt handle is just screaming over pressure handloads :D
