The scope was purchased at Ted Rogers annual militaria auction in WGTN earlier this year. They rarely come up, however Leatherwood are making a repro as you can't buy new Unertl's anymore. Buffalo arms have the scope mounting blocks and the scopes usually come with the rings.
It's generally accepted that as well as Unertl's, that Fecker's and Lyman Targetspot scopes are correct for this type of build as well.
I'm looking forward to shooting some groups to see how she'll do. It should go under an inch if the iron sight groups were anything to go on.

Gimp, initially I though you had mounted a mortar launching front blade on that, on closer inspection it looks like a rock in exactly the right place :D
It does have a fixed front sight....? Waiting on a properly sized folding rear sight for it.
Ok, my initial thought was whoa big front sight, but then looked again and colour seems different, so thought it might be a pointy rock behind the rifle...
Does the front blade have wings on the side like some other battle sights ? Just looks pretty big, might also be the angle of the photo...

I've been playing with a cool iPhone app which enhances your images as I'm no photographer. Here's a photo of my walk-up upland game 12Ga.
