Put a new seagull on the 7-08 Blaser. 3 rounds to get it on zero was nice with another 2 rounds to prove the load that’s maybe 15 years old now is still a shooter.

Going to buy a custom turret for it and @stug isn’t far away from making it a new lighter stock.
The Spartan bipod wears a new pod-loc type locking nut which is a big improvement over the old thumb screw. Vertibrae.no supplied both this and a flush mount for the new stock. Superior service from these guys.

Looking good @kiwijames - pretty sure I got the idea to shoot the BT's in my T3 from you and from memory, it was almost an identical load.

Keen to see it with the @stug stock on it. I love mine, but in the process of adding a little extra grip to it (adhesive and fine sand) perhaps.

Are you going to the Dannivirke shoot? I’ll be there if the weather doesn’t ruin it again.

Right, gave up with the ACOG on the new Target Lite 10/22. Just mounted too high.
Back to the fugly but comfy laminate for being less scary.

Yes I did accidentally order high Z Signature rings. I’m a muppet.
Scope is a place holder until a get something sexier.

It’s a tack driver with 2 of my 3 factory mags. The other is a jammimatic.

Got my hands on a second hand Tikka t1x, just to see how well it would shoot.
This is using CCI segmented subs, and it definitely seems to like them.

Happily it slid into my stug stock, and the area 419 rail off a cz455 fitted as well. Excuse all of the duct tape and foam - I'll make a check rest for it when I get some spare time.

A bargainous way to go lightweight for long walks... would have preferred the wooden version but the price was too good to say no and stainless is practical.

Savage Mod.16 Lightweight Hunter in 308, once I chuck a scope on (and probably shorten it with a DPT can) I'll find out how it shoots. If its anything like my other Savages I won't have any complaints. Plus the spiral fluted bolt is kinda pretty.

If you don't like it let me know. I brought one from Boar freak (https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co....45-70-a-49562/).
16" barrel with DPT. Extremely light (3.1ish kg loaded with scope and suppressor). Shoots about an 1" at 100m with federal blue packet. Didn't try anything else.
Brought it for my missus. However I took it out in the weekend and dragged it through some shitty scrub to do a bit of goat hunting. Beauty, short, light weight little rifle and superb shooting.
Only problem is I might have to find the missus another rifle... I'm rather fond of it... I would honestly have another just so I can carry one as well when we hunt together - which is more often than not.

    Gun snob

I would be quite happy to put my .223 of the name model (but wood) up against any .223 sporting rifle of the same weight.

If there was a Savage dealer in NZ that had the full range and sold them close to what the yanks get them for... I'd have 10. Or maybe 11. And 30 barrels.

They do take a wee bit of work to sort out initially, can be a bit rough around the edges, but they are the most customisable, do-it-yourself, ragged hole shooters you can get.

My cuzzies' workshop is like a Savage factory, there's that many bits and pieces. They build up rifles with factory parts in a morning, sort out a load after lunch, go hunting. Love the modularity of the stocks, actions and the DIY barrel change tool. So easy.

Annoys me that they are so expensive over here, for what they are.
