    Gunsmith Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a Gunsmith that can headspace a second barrel for an H&R break action rifle. Ideally Lower NI but can go further afield if necessary.

The spare barrel in question fits reasonably well but is a bit loose when the action is closed. It just has a small amount of play. My guess would be that the recessed notch on the barrel lug, just needs to be made slightly shallower.

I think you build up the face on the barrel pivot. But time consuming as you hand fit it.

He was my first choice, as I have only heard good things, but it’s not the sort of job he is set up for.

You could try Mitch Maxberry at Kelson, very professional.
It's not all of them, but it's always them.
