    Are Hatsan good air rifles?

Hi, just bought a Benjamin Varmint hunter, but the red led torch does not work. They don't have any more available, so want me to send gun back and they will refund me.
They do sell the Hatsan AirTact ED2 Vortex Gas Piston Air Rifle.
Are Hatsan good? Seems cheap enough to me.
Its for ratting and blackbirds who won't leave my garden alone in spring.

Had a Stoeger A30 before, that was good, but can't get them now. Gave that to my brother.

Will a Hatsan lasta few years with nota lot of use?

    Cheers

They're alright. They're made in Turkey in the Escort factory IIRC. I've had one and it was on par with the Rugers and Gamos I've had. Not excellent like my old man's Weirauch's but did the job.

'Twas not intended to be any more than that, to be fair.

Cheers guys, the online company in NZ I bought the air rifle from got a bit sarcastic about me sending the gun back, they said I should just forget about the faulty $6 torch and keep the gun.
Pretty poor response, plus I got the blurb about any damage, no refund, and "you can get the torch for $6 at Hunting and Fishing"...what a rude dickhead he was. Not in the slightest concerned the brand new gun I bought had a faulty torch which was part of the deal.
So have kept the air rifle, as I simply didn't trust him for a refund, feel he would have made any excuse.
Can't name and shame I guess, but I'm really pissed at his response. I feel sorry for anyone else dealing with him.
As for the Hatsans, looked online and pretty poor reviews, and poor build quality seems common.

So I'll keep the Benjamin (Crosman), seems nice enough, and will sort rats easily. I'll have to get a torch myself, around $100 according to the local H&F store.
    Thanks guys.

The guy at Youngs air guns (cant remember his name) didn't have much good to say about Hatsan's when I asked him a few years ago.

I had one. A model 70 (off the top of my head). It crapped out after a few hundred rounds. Plastic trigger components etc.

A top quality air rifle is quite cheap compared to a top quality centerfire or rimfire. For $800-1000 you could get a Diana, Weihrauch or Air Arms which will last a lifetime.
