Yes. You can often feel if there is a bulge by running your fingers up and down the barrel.

well actually as far as the free floating is concerned i have not in reality properly done that as i never took the lugs off stock as i was thinking that as they there from factory that they should probably stay. i just made sure that there was no other pressure points along the barrel other than those lugs
factory bedding seems to be in good order
Try and double click on the word attachment for the pics above there are 4 from slightly diff angles

If you are in Nelson, flick me a PM & bring it round before the weekend & I will see if I can sort it for you.
I had this happen with a Browning, it was probably bulged when I forgot and left some oil in the barrel. Accuracy just suddenly disappeared one day. I only managed to diagnose the issue when I noticed the brush would slip about an inch inside the barrel and then go tight again as I ran the rod up the bore when I was cleaning it..
Hey all you good fellas out there
i've had Gunworks cut out that mysterious ring inside the barrel and a suppressor fitted just got home from the range and using Hornady 75grain HPBT's I am now getting 6 shot group of 14mm at 100m and 5 shoot group of 41mm plus one flyer same height but left a bit (probably me) at 200m
Thanks Gunworks its nice to have confidence in your Tools/Toys again
PS still have no idea what caused the ring in the barrel still think it was always there from new......
Hey @HWWSM Guy
How did the ‘ring’ get there? Did someone (other than you) fire it with oil, or some other liquid, in the barrel?
With bulges, water is always the first suspect being totally incompressible. Plenty of guns are routinely fired with oil left in them with no consequences.
Hey Kiwi Greg
Sorry for the late reply however i just wanted to say thank you very much for the offer but ive got it all sorted cheers..
