Here we go again... suppressor questions

    Morning all,

Just wondering what your opinions are on the best light weight suppressor.

I realise that DPT with a stainless baffle will be most peoples choice, but let's take weight, noise, durability and size into it.

The cost is not relevant in this argument so if a Oceania titanium is quiet and light then I would like to hear from someone who has compared them to the other brands available in NZ.

    Cheers

    Slimy

    DPT

Add an extra baffle or two and unbeatable on all counts

    Light weight
Swap baffles around so they all get a turn in the blast chamber as they wear
    Small
    Very well priced

    DPT every time.

For interest sake, I run 2 baffles on my 223 and 3 on my 6.5.

ODL doesn't make anything suitable for a larger caliber hunting rifle, last time I checked

+1 for DPT, got 2 of them. Any weight saving you're considering should be a factor in your chosen optics, bipod, sling, etc.

I've got two SSRNZ made, not compared with other brands (the first one worked so got another). Also a modular set up with cones inside. Titanium construction.

Just putting it out there. Although my needs are pretty basic.
    1) be quieter than without suppressor
    2) don't weight much
    3) don't explode

Hi, which calibre are you looking in suppressing?

Our lightest weight centre fire suppressor is the SL5i, available in four different calibre sizes from .222 up to 8x17 IS

Weighing in at 335-345 grams with a fully welded stainless steel construction.

We do have more effective models, but the SL5i probably the smallest suppressor on the market bringing sound pressure levels under 137 dB at the shooters ear.

S Series SL5i sound suppressor | Ase Utra

    Best Regards!

I have a DPT Magnum Over Barrel on a Remington 700 in .308 with a 18" barrel. The suppressor comes back ~150mm over the barrel and the rifle has a nice balanced feel. Very happy with the performance and it appears to be effective from results (animals on the ground) to date.
