Hi Tech Composites stocks on Howa 1500

Hey is anyone using a Hi Tech Composites carbon fiber stock on their Howa 1500?

How do you like it? How much weight did you save?

Looking at shortening my 308 down to 16 inches with the DPT I already have and going carbon stock. The standard Howa stock is just over 1kg so should save a bit there alone, bedding shouldn't ad much weight?

Pretty sure he doesn't make the regular howa SA or LA 1500 action inlet. Just the mini? Could be wrong though?

I dont own a Howa 1500 but would consider getting due to that stock being availble for them. I wished he inletted that stock for Rem model 7s

Kens stock are the ducks nuts, i have two of the 700 stocks, his newer ones are even better.

    Wow, that's light.
My answer to the OP would have been you can save about a half a kg with a C/F stock over a factory sporter stock. Approx.
I looked at t a few brands, options. It seems about a half a kg save is about right
Making a stock that comes in at only 520grams is lighter than any I researched.

I stand corrected! Ken makes a awesome stock, have 2 of his stocks and they're great. That howa one is very light!

Yep not many fancy (expensive) CF stocks are that light. I have two that weight just less than that. Both Mod 7 stocks, one is a Stug and the other is a Wildcat Composites out of Canada. Kens new Howa mini (and now Howa 1500) stock is really nice, not only is the size and form how i like a hunting stock, but the weight is right down there as well.

Hey thanks for the feedback team, I'm keen as to get it done as the Howa is a proven shooter, it actually shoots better than my Tikka 7mm08, gasp! Even though it'll weigh about the same as a Tikka t3 standard I think it'll be a lot nicer rifle and with the shorter barrel be very "pointable"

520 grams is just over half what the standard hogue stock weighs, I've got a spare one that weighs 1024 grams on the kitchen scales @CBH Australia

    Cool,
Where is Stuff when you need him? I think he found it hard to compete in the market on a small scale and make it viable.

    Is Ken Hi Tech composites?

I looked Kiwi Composites previously, I think they were renamed

    Yes Ken is Hi-Tec.

Yeah i think Kiwi Composites was renamed Southfort Labs or similar.

Another NZ stock manufacturer was sold or relocated to Aussie, cant remember their name but their stocks werent anywhere near the quality of Hi-Tecs
