I have an old aimpoint comp m4 that has taken a trashing and looking at passing it on to my brother and thinking of getting a trijicon MRO because of the larger objective or the aimpoint T2. Just want something a bit smaller.
Has anyone used any or both of these?. I know the T2 is as rugged and reliable as they come. This will be for a hunting rig 95% of the time, a bit of twilight shooting deer, bunnys and night shooting bunnys and coons with a light.
you cant beat aimpoint. I have an Eotech 557 which did not survive a 3ft drop test off mt shelf (odd cause its the Mil Version) and it proved too difficult to get back to them to fix, If it was a civi version apparently it would be easy. Never even been on a rifle Anyway I now have a very expensive paperweight an wish I had got an aimpoint instead :(
I really like the t2's but M4 is good too.
Note: all my experience with them is on rifles used for 3 gun
I have both the mro and a few t1/t2/h2
If you don't need night vision compatibility (and a h2 does actually work with night vision-it's just extremely bright) I would say the h2 is the winner as it's 1/4 cheeper than a t2 and for most people it does the same thing just as reliably.
Sometimes I do miss the big tube of the m4, normally after using one of the ones I still have so if the weight and bulk doesn't concern you they are still a damn good option!
I dislike the mro, while it has a larger tube then a t2 I don't shoot as well with it-especially in dappled lighting conditions. I put this down to the angles front lens but that's just a guess
I really like the eotech's in use but have had a couple die and after there semi recent recalls I won't be buying any more.
It has to be said that a t/h2 mounts lower than anything else on this thread and that matters IMHO for a lot of firearms
I have an Aimpoint pro, very similar to the Comp m4...
Here is a review from Battlefield Vegas, and the simple Aimpoint eats the competition for abuse...

Cheers for the input guys, sorry I've got a Aimpoint M2 not M4. Not keen on the H1,T1 or H2 as they meant to have a slight astigmatism and makes the dot elongated but the T2 doesn't have this problem but I don't know it's only what I read and seen on YouTube. I highly rate Aimpoint's and can't fault them reliability wise, dot illumination settings and long battery life. The only Trijicon I'm keen on is the MRO if it stacks up against the T2.
Mainly using it for tight bush with lots of rain, cloud, low vizabilaty and mud where a normal scope fogs up and gets covered is crap climbing and crawling on all fours. I can handle wiping the lens with my finger in a hurry on a red dot but not on a $3K scope.

Not using this scope any more NXS 3.5-15x56 it's overkill, gone with the compact NXS 2.5-10x42 way better.

It's actually for swapping out my Nightforce on my 300BLK and need/want a smaller dot optic.
Sounds like a m4 or T2 is what your after then, I can't say I have noticed any difference between the dots on my t2 and h2's but everyone's eyes are different.Quote:

The slightly distorted dots of the T1/H1 are mainly visible if you throw a magnifier behind it. The change of the circuitry of the next generation T2/H2 models moves to solve this, the same circuitry is in the Aimpoint Pro if you want a larger tube). I have no experience with the MRO, but have used M2/gen 1&2 micros which I like. I do like the smaller size of the micro as I do run a magnifier behind it and it gives me more rail space, but I suspect that is not really a consideration for you.
have 3 mro,s and a srs havent tried anything else great for bush like the adjustable brightness can get them with low medium or high mounts res how much do you want for yours
