My last started with buying a PPC Magazine box and follower for a Sako S491
My latest one started with me accidentally drilling a hole through my chamber hahaha
The need for something cheap to run to have fun got my latest going
A garage built barrel for sale here on forum. Its cost me more than just buying complete rifle new....and counting.
buying a very cheap BSA Martini ex small bore rifle initially was thinkiing .22 Hornet but stuck with making a light bunny buster with scope
Mine started with a ruger american 3006 i swapped for my versamax shotgun. Had a pencil thin barrel that would heat up fast so wasnt much good for targets. Had it made into a 6.5 06 instead
I'm selling off some old BSA Martini action smallbore club rifles if anyone is wanting a starter for a project.
Attachment 274469Attachment 274470 there ya go hope they came out still got final job on wood checkering oil finish just a pity stock nice walnut but fore end very plain cant have it all
always been curious about those martinis but never owned or shot one.
very accurate and a beautifull trigger well they were designed as a target rifle
Are the vickers the same thing?
Basically yes
thanks mate would not have been able to awnser that have only seen photos of the Vickers
I thought the vickers were a one piece barrel and action thing.
Not quite the same as the bsa
^^ correct. The Vickers is most easily recognized by its one piece stock. I've had a Vickers since I was 18 and it's still right up there with my most accurate 22s . . .
Ive seen those martinis made into centerfires. Were they ever built as them. After reading the 22 grendel thread my mind is pondering something or not a suitable action for one?
The Cadets are a wonderful wee action, and very strong. However the have a very small barrel shank (about 0.75" if I recall correctly) and this is a severe limitation on what it's sensible to chamber them in. Many years ago Geoff Slee (a maker of superb stocks in Aussie) showed me two Cadet hornets he'd made for his sons, and both were giving issues due to the use of hot loads.
So it can be done, frequently is, but be aware of the potential downsides!
I've got a Vickers Martini barreled action someone can have for cheap if anyone wants a project.
@techno retard, I’d very much like to see a photo of those and you’re welcome to PM me some details. Thank you.
I needed something to tinker with and at the same time succumbed to some bad influences on here....
