Nah, my alpine mountain rifle is accurate AF.
Unless you plan on shooting long strings (the thinner barrel heats up quicker) get the lightweight.

I am using a howa with a heavy barrel for FPR shooting and another one that is an Alpine Mountain for hunting.Quote:

Also depends on what barrel length you require. The lightweight version (usually has the lightening cuts on the action) is a 20" barrel. The standard profile is 22" long from the factory.
A bunch of Howa barreled actions in 6.5 PRC are coming in shortly.
