    HRE VS DPT suppressor

    Hi Guy's,
Doing some trolling on a suppressor for my Blaser. Wanting to keep the package light & compact. I was thinking of just using a standard HRE suppressor
as they have only something like 80mm in front of the muzzle but after handing a DPT 22LR muzzle can thought wow this looks really good now wondering if a DPT over barrel would be as good (or better if you figure on it's lighter weight). Anybody done any back to back comparison of noise of these two brands.... how about long term wear & accuracy?

We did a test with a heap of suppressors on AR15's a while back (HRE, DPT, ODL, Waitaki and one more) - HRE was the loudest of the bunch (tested with same ammo and same conditions), gutting cause I owned the HRE suppressor and I paid double what others paid for DPT and Waitaki cans.

Look at a ATec cmm-4 not over barrel but muzzle forward. Have one on my Blaser R8. Do u want to hunt with suppressor on all the time? Light and quiet and reasonably priced from Quentin at 45 South.
Easy to carry in pocket and screw on when you need it.

Luke, I have a DPT on my 243 and it is very good. The Hardy cans look prettier but Blasers are ugly anyway so why stop at the suppressor? I will be replacing my Gunworks durallium with a DPT in the future on my R93 in 7mm-08. Length is not so much a issue on the Blaser as we loose about 2.5" over a standard turn bolt regardless by having no receiver. Compared to a Dan-can my DPT is very unscientifically about the same noise.

I have a DPT over barrel on my R93 22-250 barrel, very impressed with it.

Will definitely get another DPT can, nice and light and compact.

    Awesome service too.

I've had two HRE cans now - Gen 2 and his latest model Gen 4. I really rate the new Gen 4 can - nice and light and bugger all length to the thing. Noise wise... meh, it sounds how a suppressor should and the animals seem to think so too.

That said - I would glady buy a DPT based on all the postive reviews on here.

My DPT came with a insruction sheet that said you can clean it if you want BUT to not clean the first moduel as the carbon layer actually helps protect it/ prolonging life span of the suppressor. Not exactly in those words but something like that

For the price and the design of DPT suppressors, they are very hard to look past. I've had one, was exceptionally happy with it. Sold the rifle, wish I'd kept the suppressor!
