I tried a few years ago no one would send a bare firing pin for my handi reloaders got some from someware
No permit to import is required for this part. The only part of an 'A' category firearm that requires an import permit is the 'action' which is the body or receiver. Brownell's do have this item listed as available for export but because it is more than US$100 it requires a US State Department export permit. That is unlikely to be issued without a valid NZ import permit (even though our laws do not require it). There will also be an extra charge for obtaining the export permit.
The reality is that the speedlock set-up does not make an enormous difference anyway. Any good gunsmith can improve the standard lock time of the Remington M700 for a lot less money and hassle than importing one. I wouldn't even bother about it as the standard set-up is perfectly OK, provided you know how to shoot. A faster lock time will only give you quicker misses if you haven't mastered the basics!

I have a few here in SA & LA
I just imported a complete Anderson ar15 BCG no State Department fee so I cant see an issue.
