    Importing rifle barrel from states

Gday with blaser barrels being very hard to come by, especially r93, I'm keen to import a custom barrel or 3 from these guys who have a very good reputation.

    Custom Barrels

Import permit would be the easy bit, does anyone know what I need to get it to leave the states? Also estimate of costs etc.

    Cheers

    Ok thanks for that info.

Money isn't an issue as it's impossible to get what I want here. I will send them an email and see what they say as seems weird to think they wouldn't have a "licence" so.dont see why a middle man would be needed...

Can understand a one of few for the export permit

didn’t the minimum value for an export permit raise from $100 to $500? Meaning that if the retailer is licensed for export then a $250 BATF permit would not be required until the value exceeds $500USD?

Could see if one of the independent dealers may be able to assist for a reasonable fee

Contact Dean at All Gun Sports NZ. He arranges the whole deal.

If you can tell me where I can get one without sacrificing my existing barrel I'm all ears

If ypu could find out the specs then any decent machine shop could do the job.

Don't go there it will end in blood and tears

You can't just spin up a Blaser barrel
Differential hardening of the locking area is the main issue
Doubt there's anyone in NZ who could do it at a realistic price without blowing up 10 to work it all out

@PerazziSC3 there’s also these guys https://www.jsipandsons.com/r8-barrels some talk on US forums about their communication skills being lacking but I think that coincided with them maybe having trouble with Blaser over using R8 and R93 to label their barrels so now they label them Gamma88 and Gamma93 barrels..
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

If he had the specs then there are loads of cnc shops thaat could do it. Place where i work could easily. I certainly wouldnt take it to your average smith with a 3jaw chuck in the shed..

Heard to many bad things about them in terms of communication from people in the states, let along us on the other side of the world. The crowd I linked was previously "Elmer's barrels" and have 100% good feedback online

Money no issue? Righto then, I'll just be checking my passport for my unexpected upcoming round trip to somewhere in the States
